Patina of Two
Saturated greens and ochres meet a near-black understory, so that light appears to rise from the scales themselves rather than fall across them. The two figures stand close without touching, and the thickly worked, deliberately uneven surface makes their skin read as both living tissue and armour. The composition withholds resolution, leaving the viewer to measure the distance between the two bodies and the wilderness that encloses them.
