Ochre Under Ultramarine
A seated figure emerges from a field of cadmium red and bruised ultramarine, her face held within a narrow band of raking light. The surface is built in translucent oil glazes over a digital underpaint, so the cool passages sit beneath the warm ones and never fully resolve into them. The tension lies in what the painting withholds: a fixed, unanswered gaze, a light that offers no comfort, and a palette that pushes against its own boundaries.
