Glaze Against Glaze
Translucent strata of ochre and violet build a figure that resists fixed definition, each glaze withholding as much as it reveals. Light seems to rise from within the layers rather than fall upon them, setting the warm passages against cooler, recessive zones. The surface holds its contradictions in unresolved tension, leaving the viewer to measure the distance between what is shown and what remains concealed.
