Pigment Holds Its Ground
Layered, unblended oil passages fracture the surface into a dense mosaic, where each saturated hue holds its ground against its neighbour. Light appears to rise from within the pigment rather than fall upon it, while opposing complementary fields generate a tension that never resolves. The viewer confronts a heavy, physical skin of color, in which identity emerges less as a single face than as a contested structure of paint.
