Ochre Against Stillness II
Translucent washes of cool blue and ochre bleed into one another, leaving the figure partly dissolved at the edge of the picture plane. A single, undefined source of light presses against the contours and withholds the face from full resolution. The tension lies between the sitter's absolute stillness and the unstable, yielding surface beneath it.
