The Curation Process

Curation is the art of refusal. For every work that enters the archive, many are created, considered — and dismissed.

There is no committee here. One human eye makes the final call, and it is not a gentle one: technical perfection at monumental scale, emotional weight that survives the hundredth viewing, and a composition that holds its own inside the house's classical, Art-Deco-inflected frame. A work that merely pleases is not enough. It has to insist.

The instruments of this selection are modern, and we say so openly: artificial intelligence is part of how these works are created and refined. The judgment is not. Machines propose; the curator disposes. What you see in the archive is the small fraction that survived both.

This is why the archive grows slowly. Speed is the enemy of the eye — and the collection would rather stay small than ever become approximate.
