Hanging Multi-Panel Works

A three-panel work is an instrument that must be tuned. The panels are engineered as equals — same dimensions, same material, same weight. What turns three panels into one work is the installation.

The three disciplines

  • Level: All panels share one horizon. A laser level or a long spirit level is not a luxury here; a few millimeters of drift between panels is invisible on a shelf and glaring on a wall.
  • Spacing: Keep the gaps identical, ideally between 2 and 5 cm. Tighter gaps bind the panels into a single sweep; wider gaps let each panel breathe as its own movement.
  • Height: Hang the work's vertical center at eye level — roughly 145 to 150 cm from the floor — and resist the instinct to go higher. Monumental works gain power at human height.

The pace

Measure twice, drill once, and step back often. For monumental formats delivered by our white-glove service, professional installation can be part of the delivery — the panels leave the crate and meet the wall in the same careful hour.
