Advanced Lighting Control

Once the basics sit — warm-neutral temperature, the 30-degree angle — lighting stops being a necessity and becomes an instrument.

Render the colors honestly

Choose LEDs with a color rendering index of CRI 90 or higher. Cheaper diodes flatten reds and starve the subtle mid-tones; a high-CRI source shows the work the way the masterfile intended it.

Tunable white

Modern fixtures let you shift color temperature through the day. A cooler noon setting keeps the work crisp while sunlight floods the room; a warmer evening scene lets the shadows breathe. The artwork does not change — your perception of it does, and you hold the dial.

Scenes with a purpose

Program two or three scenes and no more: a daylight setting, an evening setting, and perhaps a late one — low, warm, almost private. More than that becomes a toy.

The protective side effect

LEDs emit practically no ultraviolet light, which makes them not only the most flexible choice but the gentlest one. Good lighting flatters the work today and preserves it for decades.

The level of detail in this documentation matches the precision of the artworks themselves. Truly a benchmark for digital art archiving.
